Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States Massachusetts Institute of Technology Full time

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in Supply Chain Management to join the Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This role will involve working at the Omnichannel Distribution Strategies Lab, where you will play a pivotal role in advancing research focused on omnichannel distribution methodologies and the Warehouse of the Future (WoF).

Key Responsibilities:
Your primary responsibilities will include conducting high-level research aimed at producing a consistent output of scholarly publications, presenting findings at international conferences, and engaging in invited speaking opportunities. Additionally, you will contribute to the public policy outreach and industry engagement initiatives of MIT CTL.

Research Focus:
The lab's current emphasis is on developing a comprehensive framework to assist organizations in assessing cutting-edge technological solutions being adopted in the WoF. This framework will take into account various perspectives, including operational efficiency, economic viability, and risk assessment.

Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in industrial engineering, operations research, supply chain management, or a closely related field. A solid understanding of both quantitative methods (e.g., statistical analysis from surveys, questionnaires, or historical data) and qualitative approaches (e.g., observational studies such as focus groups or interviews) is essential.

Candidates should have a proven history of producing high-quality academic publications in areas related to omnichannel distribution strategies, e-commerce logistics, and warehousing operations and technology. Experience in other core supply chain management domains, such as inventory management, transportation and logistics, process optimization, demand forecasting, or supply chain technology, will also be considered valuable.

Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in developing comprehensive frameworks derived from case studies and empirical research. Success in collaborating closely with industry partners will be an added advantage.
