Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Postdoctoral Fellow in Soft Math Lab to join our team at Harvard University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in macroscopic physics, quantitative biology, and applied mathematics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in the general areas of macroscopic physics, quantitative biology, and applied mathematics, with a focus on soft matter physics and collective behavior of organisms.
  • Develop and apply theoretical and experimental methods for the analysis of problems in these fields, including data analysis, geometric signal processing, and computational science.
  • Collaborate with experimentalists and other researchers to advance our understanding of complex systems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Communicate research results through publications and presentations.
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics, Engineering, Biology, or Applied Mathematics.
  • Experience with theoretical and experimental methods for the analysis of problems in macroscopic physics, quantitative biology, and applied mathematics.
  • Strong commitment to working with and alongside experimentalists.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with using ideas from physics, biology, and computation, including discrete differential geometry, statistics, and computational mechanics.
  • Knowledge of sensor design and deployment, data analysis, and mathematical modeling.
