Position Summary:

The role of the Safety Compliance Officer is crucial in fostering a safe work environment by developing and implementing effective safety protocols in collaboration with local facility operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional skills in planning, organizing, and executing training programs with minimal oversight, showcasing strong organizational and communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate work-related injuries and promptly inform management of significant details.
  • Assist plant personnel in identifying and addressing safety and health opportunities.
  • Analyze facility incident trends and propose corrective measures.
  • Facilitate internal certification processes for forklifts and aerial lifts.
  • Collaborate with third-party organizations to achieve project goals safely.
  • Organize and manage training sessions, workshops, and seminars, ensuring timely logistics.
  • Support various safety training initiatives.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of incident reports.
  • Conduct investigations with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Monitor safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with OSHA and relevant regulations.
  • Assist in the development and execution of safety programs.
  • Perform scheduled audits to identify workplace hazards and aid in corrective action development.
  • Utilize Oracle applications for creating supply requisitions and work orders.
  • Respond to service calls, including alarm responses and routine requests.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of site emergency procedures.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by the EHS Supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required (AA/AS preferred).
  • Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Understanding of packinghouse and warehouse operations.
  • Strong observational and analytical skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work flexible schedules as required.
  • Proven ability to plan and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong relationship-building skills across various levels and functions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Experience in implementing personnel policies and procedures.
  • Professional demeanor and positive image.
  • Ability to make informed decisions within the scope of responsibilities.
  • Willingness to undergo additional training for skill enhancement.
  • Ability to work independently within job duties.
