Job Overview:
General Summary:
The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks dedicated instructors to effectively design and deliver educational courses in apartment leasing. Instructors will engage with a diverse student body, utilizing various teaching methods including in-person, remote, and online formats. Employment as an adjunct instructor does not guarantee ongoing contracts.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive training in apartment leasing to individuals seeking entry-level positions in the industry.
  • Employ diverse instructional techniques and materials to create an engaging learning atmosphere, including interactive activities and flexibility in teaching approaches.
  • Facilitate understanding through practical exercises, role-playing, and real-world case studies.
  • Address industry-related inquiries and provide relevant examples.
  • Incorporate essential topics such as business etiquette and professional attire.
  • Focus on practical skills for leasing roles rather than solely exam preparation.
  • Cover all aspects of customer service pertinent to leasing positions.
  • Foster professionalism among students.
  • Educate on Federal Fair Housing Law using varied teaching modalities.
  • Integrate soft skills training, including resume writing and mock interviews.
  • Complete all required training upon hiring and annually thereafter.
  • Maintain accurate records, assign grades, and evaluate student performance.
  • Comply with the policies and regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Essential Duties:
In alignment with the commitment to quality education, instructors are expected to consistently attend scheduled classes, submit necessary documentation, adhere to the prescribed curriculum, and uphold professional ethics as outlined by institutional policies. Minimum Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of apartment leasing curriculum and Federal Fair Housing Law.
  • Proficient in using learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) for instructional purposes.
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to adapt instruction for diverse age groups and skill levels.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience in apartment leasing certification.
  • Experience in adult education.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant certifications in apartment leasing.
  • Background in training or education.
  • Completion of apartment leasing or management courses.
  • Awareness of local ordinances and industry trends.
  • Prior experience in higher education teaching.
