About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Reservoir Engineer to join our Upstream Energy team in Houston, TX. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the evaluation and analysis of oil and gas assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Domestic and International A&D team within the Global Investment Banking - Energy Division.
  • Ensure specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Provide engineering support for Houston Domestic and International A&D team, focused on execution of upstream and midstream oil and gas pitches, live mandates, and ad hoc technical requests.
  • Develop and maintain ARIES/PHDwin databases related to advisory mandates and any related pitch work in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Run database sensitivities as required by clients/senior bankers and provide timely and accurate outputs to the rest of the team.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and requests by pulling third-party data using Spotfire or other proprietary tools to assist with evaluations and any related client/senior banker request.
  • Continuously develop new tools that enhance database-related efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide colleagues/customers with troubleshooting issues and closing any knowledge gaps with engineering database management software.
  • Contribute to engineering portions of management presentations and pitch materials, including assisting with slide preparation and engineering analysis with senior engineering oversight.
Requirements
  • University/College degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of experience working in engineering-related roles with a preference for oil and gas experience.
  • Expert knowledge of ARIES and/or PHDwin is a requirement.
  • Strong knowledge of third-party support products (e.g., Enverus Prism, Wood Mackenzie Welligence).
  • Beneficial to have exposure to oil and gas acquisitions and divestiture activity in a prior role.
  • Exposure to economic evaluation (net present value), fiscal regimes, SEC Reserves.
  • Proven ability to work concurrently across multiple tasks/activities primarily related to oil and gas asset/corporate evaluations.
  • Strong knowledge of Spotfire and/or other data analytics programs.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and technical oil and gas software.
