Responsibilities:
Oversee projects focused on the repair and/or upgrade/replacement of hydroelectric generators, breakers, transformers, and auxiliary systems.

Lead the design initiatives for the upgrade/replacement of hydroelectric auxiliary electrical systems.

Direct the creation of bid documents (Plans, Specifications, and Cost Estimates).

Contribute to the design efforts for proposals.

Mentor junior engineers and designers.

Review, edit, and compose technical reports.

Review, edit, and draft technical specifications.

Establish design criteria for projects.

Supervise teams of drafters in preparing design drawings.

Conduct QA/QC by verifying design methodologies, calculations, and outcomes.

Lead field inspections and surveys to support repair, design, and construction activities.

Develop design alternatives.

Assist project managers and leaders in creating proposals, business development, client communications, and designs.

Create training materials for clients and provide technical guidance.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.

Professional engineer licensure is preferred (or a desire to obtain licensure).


A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly with medium and high voltage equipment and auxiliary electrical systems is preferred.

Familiarity with rotating equipment (generators, exciters, motors).

Expertise in designing auxiliary electrical systems (protective relaying, instrumentation, and control systems, station service).

Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and their application in designing electrical systems and equipment.

A willingness to engage in a variety of project types.

A commitment to working collaboratively in a team environment to learn from and mentor others.

A hands-on approach, including site visits, construction, and manufacturing inspections and tests.

Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD) is desirable.

Strong skills in Microsoft Office.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Attention to detail.

Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers projects or familiarity with Corps' design guidelines is advantageous.

Ability to read, write, and comprehend English for effective communication in job-related contexts.
