Job Description

At Institute for Comm Living, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Developmental Disability Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing direct support to adults with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide observations, evaluations, and reports to ensure and/or record an individual's progress toward treatment/habilitation goals.
  • Guide and teach individuals to develop skills required for a more independent lifestyle, in accordance with habilitative plans.
  • Take a lead role in one or more of the following duties within a work site: Personal Care, Food Preparation, Mealtimes.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and ability to provide direct services to adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Related experience desirable. Current clean New York State driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct Care experience with people with mental and/or physical disabilities.
  • AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR/SFA certified.
