Overview

This role is situated within the Division of Depositor and Consumer Protection (DCP) of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Salary Information
The compensation for this position is capped at $275,000.

Eligibility
This position is exclusively available to current permanent employees of the FDIC with competitive status eligibility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a vital member of the Field Territory management team, overseeing a group of Examiners as a first-line supervisor. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating work assignments, setting priorities, and managing schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks. Provide guidance and support to team members on examination and administrative issues, while addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
  • Implement the FDIC's Performance Management Program for team members, which involves identifying training needs, assisting in the development of individual growth plans, and evaluating performance. Foster continuous improvement through team briefings and development activities.
  • In the absence of the Field Supervisor, take charge of office operations and responsibilities.
  • Conduct compliance examinations and evaluations under the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) for insured depositor institutions, particularly those with identified issues. Perform examinations as necessary to meet mission objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance to Examiners regarding policies, procedures, laws, and examination techniques, ensuring the quality of examination reports produced by the team.
  • Maintain communication with Risk Management counterparts to coordinate examinations and supervisory activities as needed.
  • Engage with officials and boards of directors of insured depository institutions to discuss examination findings.
  • Promote and enforce policies and directives from the Field Territory, Regional Office, DCP, and FDIC.

Qualifications

Employment Conditions
This is a Moderate Risk Position requiring a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI). Relocation may be necessary to fulfill management needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate leadership and technical experience typically acquired through roles involving project or team management. Relevant experience may be obtained in both public and private sectors, including volunteer work that contributes to the development of essential skills.

Leadership Experience: Proven experience in leading and coordinating projects, establishing expectations, and providing feedback to team members.

Technical Experience: Experience in conducting examinations and serving as an Examiner in Charge (EIC) related to consumer protection laws and CRA responsibilities.

Selective Placement Factor: Candidates must hold a Commissioned Compliance Examiner designation from the FDIC or a comparable organization.
