IT Help Desk Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Help Desk Technician to join our team at the State of Colorado. As a key member of our Information Technology (IT) unit, you will provide exceptional technical support to our end-users, ensuring they receive timely and effective assistance with their IT-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, chat, or ticket system
- Troubleshoot basic technical problems, including hardware, software, network connectivity, and printer issues
- Log support requests and document customer interactions, issues reported, and resolutions in a ticketing system
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary
- Provide guidance and training to end-users on how to properly use software and hardware
- Assist with password resets and account management
- Update and maintain knowledge base to help streamline future issue resolution
- Monitor system performance and proactively detect issues
- Install and configure software and hardware
Requirements
- Three years of professional experience providing computer-related technical support as the main function of your job
- Associates degree from an accredited institution in information technology, computer information systems, or a closely related field and one year of professional experience providing computer-related technical support as the main function of your job
- Technical support experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis
- Training or certification in a subject matter directly related to the position will substitute for one year of the degree requirement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing technical support beyond the required one year
- Extensive experience servicing hardware and software
- CompTIA A+ certification
- Knowledge of ITIL v3
- Experience using multimedia conversion software in a professional setting
- Knowledge of Windows Active Directory
- Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and experience using Adobe Acrobat Professional
