About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop Services Administrator to join our team at Speedcast. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our computer systems and software, providing technical support to our global end-users, and collaborating with our Infrastructure and Applications teams to maintain healthy systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hardware and Software Management: Manage the software and hardware inventory, ensuring all equipment is correctly maintained and tracked.
  • Technical Support: Provide training to end-users on the use of all desktop-related hardware and software, troubleshoot and resolve any hardware or software-related issues reported by end-users in a timely and efficient manner.
  • System Administration: Administer, maintain, and provide support for all desktop-related hardware and software, including workstations and printers.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all desktop systems comply with the company's security policies and procedures, manage and maintain desktop security, including virus protection and software patching.
  • User Management: Manage user accounts and access rights, including file server access and onboarding/offboarding, with knowledge of Exchange and Azure AD.
  • Project Support: Assist with IT infrastructure server setup and maintenance as requested by infrastructure team members, support and troubleshoot end-users remotely and in-person.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of practical experience with managing systems, networks, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with network and server configuration, security protocols, and data management, extensive familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems, as well as related technologies.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+ / CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
