Job Summary

The City of Arvada is seeking a highly skilled Parts Procurement Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Fleet Services department, you will be responsible for coordinating the procurement and distribution of parts and supplies to ensure the city's fleet is properly maintained and functioning efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory levels by distributing and replenishing parts and supplies as needed.
  • Procurement and Distribution: Order and distribute special ordered parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Generate accident and fabrication work orders, and maintain monthly spreadsheets for reimbursement.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Coordinate pickup and delivery of parts and supplies, and evaluate inventory levels to ensure proper stock.
  • Tool Crib Management: Oversee the use of specialty tools by city technicians, and maintain the fleet bid log spreadsheet.
  • Fleet Maintenance: Fuel island and waste oil tank as per state requirements, and evaluate tire tracking spreadsheets.
  • Financial Management: Process invoices for payment through the city's financial programs, and create purchase orders and releases.
  • Vendor Management: Meet and negotiate with vendors, and communicate with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Five (5) years' experience in an automotive and/or heavy equipment parts fleet environment with a strong emphasis on purchasing.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid Colorado driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Working Environment

The work environment/physical activities described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. Work is primarily performed in an indoor environment with occasional exposure to excessive noise. This position requires moderate physical work with moderate lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to (50) fifty pounds occasionally and/or up to (20) twenty pounds frequently.
