Production Planner

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formulate and disseminate the daily manufacturing schedule.
- Generate and issue work orders based on system requirements, manage system alerts, and ensure work order timelines align with organizational metrics.
- Monitor the flow of components throughout the facility and provide timely updates to Sales and other departments regarding status and expected delivery timelines.
- Initiate purchase requisitions as needed for quotes and procurement to facilitate timely delivery of parts or services.
- Oversee procurement activities, including maintaining multiple supply sources, confirming that planned orders align with demand, and suggesting modifications in quantities to leverage pricing advantages.
- Guarantee the seamless and punctual supply of raw materials and outsourced operations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure prompt actions are taken to produce and deliver components on schedule.
- Engage with the Sales team to proactively communicate any delays and collaborate on rescheduling to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with engineering to plan any necessary testing, minimizing disruptions to the production schedule.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of plant operations and equipment to facilitate effective planning.
- Assess non-conformances and engineering modifications to adjust work orders as necessary.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and their representatives.
- Regularly revise work order due dates based on variations in internal capacity and vendor delivery schedules.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at shortening the supply chain, enhancing fill rates, and optimizing inventory levels.
- Adhere to all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
- Execute any additional job responsibilities as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience is necessary, or equivalent knowledge/education in:
- Manufacturing settings
- Planning
- Project Management
- Technical knowledge in the Oil and Gas sector.
- Experience with ERP software is essential - familiarity with Oracle ERP is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with strong Excel capabilities.
- Ability to successfully complete a drug screening and background check.
- Capability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to perform under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Capacity to meet or exceed departmental standards.
- Flexibility to adapt and receive cross-training for various job functions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
