About the Role

Ochsner Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Meeting Planner to join our team. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing logistical and coordination aspects of system-wide employee and leadership meetings and events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Plan, communicate, and monitor event progress, ensuring seamless execution and timely completion.
  • Budget Management: Manage event budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with key stakeholders to achieve program/event outcomes or results, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of events, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance future events.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent, with additional degrees, business training experience, and/or certifications combined to meet minimum qualifications.
  • Work Experience: 8 years of meeting/program/event planning experience, with a proven track record of negotiating with vendors and managing within budget.
  • Certifications: Certification as a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to the role, and keyboard skills.
  • Media Production: Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
  • Customer Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
