Operations Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Idaho National Laboratory is seeking an Operations Specialist to contribute to our Research and Education Campus (REC) Fabrication Services division. This role operates on a 9x80 schedule, allowing for every other Friday off, with all responsibilities conducted onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and assign daily tasks to technicians, ensuring clarity and direction in their work.
- Uphold and promote safe work practices within the facility, prioritizing the well-being of all staff members.
- Assist group leaders in monitoring and assessing technician performance, providing valuable feedback for performance reviews.
- Support engineering and research projects from initial design through to fabrication, assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of systems using advanced techniques.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for complex operational requirements, including Hoisting and Rigging, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and equipment operations.
- Act as the SME for Biomass Feedstock National User Facility (BFNUF) equipment, overseeing processes such as densification, pelleting, grinding, and separation.
- Collaborate directly with engineers, designers, and researchers to address technical challenges, offering innovative and practical solutions.
- Adhere to work control documents to ensure all tasks are performed safely and in compliance with established procedures.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while fulfilling job responsibilities.
- Engage with clients to foster effective working relationships.
- Participate in work planning and estimating hours for tasks.
- Provide on-the-job training for colleagues as necessary.
- Handle material procurement tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree with 9 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 6 years of relevant experience, or 15 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 Office Suite.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license throughout employment.
- Willingness to work special shifts or weekends as required by program needs.
- Ability to complete necessary facility-specific training and professional development throughout employment.
- This position requires the capability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The salary range for this position is $91,008 - $186,588, determined by factors such as education and relevant experience.
