Position Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Estimator to oversee a diverse portfolio of large-scale, mission-critical commercial real estate and infrastructure projects for our esteemed clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive estimates and cost plans, culminating in the presentation of the final cost plan.
  • Capable of estimating at various stages, including conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
  • Assist in conducting feasibility studies and preparing procurement documentation.
  • Manage all procurement processes, including pre-qualification, bid list creation, bid analysis, and contractual documentation.
  • Engage in post-contract cost variance analysis and change control processes, escalating significant changes to management as necessary.
  • Conduct cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the cost management process.
  • Generate monthly post-contract cost reports for client presentations.
  • Contribute to value engineering initiatives and negotiate final accounts.
  • Maintain communication with clients and other consultants throughout all project phases.
  • Provide leadership to the cost management team as needed, ensuring accountability in all deliverables.
  • Identify opportunities for business development with existing clients and report these to the appropriate management.
  • Suggest enhancements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, directing ideas to the relevant management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong technical experience in all areas of cost management, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
  • Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCad Navisworks, and related software.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various construction procurement methods.
  • Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Familiarity with key aspects of business development.
  • Broad knowledge and experience across multiple industry sectors.

Education and Experience:

  • Proven experience in preparing mechanical cost estimates for complex construction projects.
  • Background in managing mechanical or MEP estimates for large-scale data centers, high-tech facilities, manufacturing, or commercial real estate projects is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems as they relate to construction.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems.
