We are currently seeking a Grants Management Analyst to support our Advocacy Team.

The Grants Management Analyst will oversee the coordination and strategic planning of various federal and state government grant budgets. This includes the establishment and administration of accounts, invoicing, and compliance reporting for Advocacy initiatives. The role requires meticulous preparation and reconciliation of allowable expenses in accordance with government grant regulations. Additionally, the Analyst will be tasked with developing, distributing, and implementing grant-related resources, calendars, and project management tasks, which encompass team communications, training, and operational duties.

This position is funded through grants with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the budget development process for assigned grants, analyzing historical budgets to provide guidance and comparative data for future projections. Reconcile monthly budget reports to clarify variances for the Finance Department. Educate grant personnel on the Association's government grant policies and operational software, including SharePoint and Microsoft Dynamics. Act as a mentor for grant teams in using the E1 Finance system. Prepare and manage a comprehensive team calendar detailing all events, deadlines, and timelines, collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational objectives. Oversee the purchasing process, including the creation of purchase orders, vendor communications, and invoice processing, ensuring compliance with grantor guidelines. Facilitate the vendor contract management process to ensure contracts are reviewed and approved in line with internal procedures and grantor regulations. Generate and disseminate internal communications and reports to prioritize and complete departmental and project activities. Foster communication with project collaborators, including national leadership and regional staff. Undertake additional duties, projects, or analyses as assigned, including participation in cross-functional task forces.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in meeting planning, contract review, and customer service. At least three (3) years of experience in project or program planning, budgeting, and reporting. Experience in Federal Government Grant Administration. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with financial applications or automated accounting systems. Competence in using functional applications or systems, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and shared document repositories like SharePoint. Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar and spelling.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range is $65,000 - $73,000, with adjustments based on experience and geographic differentials. The American Heart Association reserves the right to adjust compensation based on these factors.
