Front Desk Supervisor Job Description

The Aloft Jacksonville Airport is seeking a highly skilled Front Desk Supervisor to oversee the front desk operations and ensure exceptional guest experiences. As a key member of the hotel team, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the front desk, reservations, and guest services teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Check-in and check-out hotel guests efficiently and accurately.
  • Process all payments according to hotel requirements and maintain a high level of cash handling accuracy.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all guests and vendors, responding to their inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Prepare and submit reports to the management team during each shift, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure all front desk staff are trained on the guest service guarantee and meet service standards.
  • Assist in creating and distributing the team member schedule in a timely manner, ensuring adequate coverage and minimizing overtime.
  • Represent the hotel in a professional, knowledgeable, and eloquent manner, promoting a positive image and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Resolve guest complaints quickly, efficiently, and courteously, escalating issues to management as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting atmosphere throughout the hotel, adhering to high standards of housekeeping and maintenance.
  • Foster a positive team-oriented environment, focusing on employee development and motivation to drive guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain a professional working relationship with all employees and department heads, promoting open lines of communication and collaboration.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of one year of front desk supervisor experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Proven experience handling cash, accounting procedures, and general administrative tasks.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with an emphasis in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and hotel management systems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work a flexible schedule and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A valid driver's license and fluency in English are essential.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to handle objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to stand during the entire shift, with reasonable accommodations made for individuals with disabilities.
