Job Summary

World Relief is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to serve as a School Enrollment Coordinator. This role will work closely with the Youth Services Coordinator to ensure the successful enrollment of children of newly arrived refugee families in school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Youth Services Coordinator to facilitate school enrollments for incoming children, including preschool enrollments.
  • Accompany families to enroll their children in school, providing support and guidance throughout the process.
  • Provide school support services for parents, including quarterly check-in calls and attendance at parent-teacher conferences.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients at schools, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are protected.
  • Coordinate with the Tutor Coordinator to onboard and match volunteers for all youth programming, primarily in-home and virtual tutoring.
  • Plan and participate in the summer learning program, focusing on social-emotional learning and academic support.
  • Handle grant reporting duties and maintain accurate records of program activities.
  • Actively participate in department meetings, staff development opportunities, program trainings, community activities, and organizational events.
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and relational skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Passionate about working with immigrant children and youth, with a demonstrated understanding of their unique needs and challenges.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of social-emotional learning concepts and their application in educational settings.
  • Ability to work sensitively and effectively in a cross-cultural setting, with a commitment to cultural competence and humility.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Fluency in Arabic, Dari, French, Pashto, Rohingya, Spanish, Swahili, or other foreign language is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record preferred.
