Job Overview

The Night Audit position at StepStone Hospitality Inc. is essential for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and maintaining operational integrity during the overnight shift.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Administration

  • Compile and analyze daily Restaurant Revenue Reports by reviewing Micros tapes and journals to categorize revenue, covers, waitstaff fees, tips disbursed, and settlements by type and cashier.
  • Generate audit reports and journals from all credit card and computer systems.
  • Record revenue, expenses, and allowances to produce necessary daily reports such as the Guest Ledger Summary and the Daily Restaurant Summary.
  • Reconcile all revenue and settlement accounts nightly, maintain documentation, and prepare the system for the following day's operations.

Operational Support

  • Address corrections and adjustments and troubleshoot any technical issues that may occur.
  • Ensure all required documentation and reports from daily activities are distributed to the appropriate departments.
  • Verify and organize all reports and supporting vouchers, ensuring they are filed correctly.
  • Examine and rectify discrepancies in the Front Desk System.
  • Collaborate with the front desk and restaurant/bar closing teams to ensure a seamless operation of file maintenance and system resets for the next day.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
  • Assist in the creation and preparation of statistical reports and presentations as required.
  • Perform duties of front desk supervisor, guest service agent, reservations agent, and telephone operator as necessary.
  • Accurately report information as needed.
  • Strictly follow all StepStone and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Participate in mandatory hotel meetings.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
  • Capable of pushing, bending, stooping, reaching upward, and demonstrating manual dexterity.
  • Proficient in hearing, writing, and typing.
  • Ability to pull a minimum of 20 pounds.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or General Manager.

Specific Additional Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Thorough understanding of all applicable federal, state, and local health and safety regulations.
  • Proficient in the English language to effectively communicate with guests and associates.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills.
  • High school diploma and relevant training and experience required; additional education preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant experience required.
  • Ability to obtain any required licenses or certifications in a timely manner.
  • CPR and first aid training preferred.
  • Additional language skills preferred.
