  • Process Documents: Scan documents, identify documents, process the fax folder, and file in appropriate folders/charts.
  • Establish Relationships: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
  • Comply with Regulations: Comply with all HIPAA and OSHA regulations and policies.
  • Complete Paperwork: Complete necessary paperwork, such as encounter forms, and use a computer system to generate information necessary for billing.
  • Maintain a Clean Environment: Maintain a clean, orderly waiting area, including the beverage area and reading materials.
  • Schedule Appointments: Schedule testing/procedures and patient appointments with other physicians as directed.
  • Coordinate Patient Movement: Coordinate patient movement, report problems or irregularities, and attend meetings as required.
  • Assist with Office Equipment: Assist in the care and maintenance of office equipment.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Typing Ability: Typing ability and word processing/computer skills.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience in a customer service setting, preferably six months in a healthcare setting, and experience with office equipment.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
Working Conditions:

Office setting, well-ventilated and well-lit. Work involves frequent telephone contact with patients, constant interaction with others, and some exposure to communicable diseases.

Physical and Mental Demands:

Sitting for extended periods, some stooping and bending, and requires sitting to standing throughout the day as required. Requires eye-hand coordination, finger dexterity, and the ability to view computer screens for long periods.
