Position Overview:

The Lead Graduate Medical Education (GME) Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the administration of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. This position is essential for ensuring that all program activities align with the standards set forth by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Program Director and Associate Program Directors to manage the daily operations of the residency program.
  • Ensure compliance with ACGME requirements, including the meticulous documentation of trainee progress and participation in audits.
  • Oversee recruitment and hiring processes, including credentialing and orientation for new residents.
  • Organize and facilitate essential meetings such as the Program Evaluation Committee and Clinical Competency Committee.
  • Manage financial aspects of the program, including reimbursements and budget reporting.
  • Support special projects initiated by the Program Director and Associate Program Directors.
  • Engage in ongoing program assessment and the development of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise residency program staff and facilitate cross-training to promote teamwork and collaboration.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Proven experience in scheduling, record-keeping, and data management.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently while prioritizing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all professional duties.
  • Experience with website management and adaptability to new software systems.

Educational Background:

A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three years of relevant program coordination experience, or a High School Diploma with ten years of experience in program coordination, including database and website management.
