Position Overview:
This role entails the operational oversight, administration, coordination, and support of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) and Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) programs as designated. You will collaborate closely with operational and physician leadership, as well as other key stakeholders, to ensure effective management of the assigned programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and oversee recruitment initiatives.
- Develop and manage projects, including human resources functions and database maintenance to uphold program compliance.
- Assess and direct various programmatic tasks, focusing on long-range planning and communication with faculty and trainees regarding program requirements.
Team Collaboration:
This position is part of the Student and Academic Affairs team at Ochsner Health System, providing essential support to current and prospective students, including administrative assistance for a Medical Society Head and admissions operations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, business administration, education leadership, or a related field.
Experience:
- Required: 3 years in healthcare, business administration, education, or a related field.
- Preferred: 5 years in a clinical education environment with a bachelor's degree.
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in computer applications and web-based tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively with diverse groups.
Project Management:
- Ability to manage projects independently, demonstrating critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Foster a cooperative work environment and build rapport with learners and clinical staff.
Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel between facilities and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
Additional Duties:
- Support the academic program's teaching and learning objectives.
- Oversee daily operations of assigned programs, ensuring adherence to accreditation and hospital policies.
- Maintain learner management systems and manage evaluative processes for learners and faculty.
Compliance and Standards:
Stay informed about current laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements relevant to the assigned responsibilities, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
