Position Overview

This role, under general oversight and adhering to established protocols, supervises environmental service aides in executing housekeeping functions across hospital facilities and related properties. The position also involves coordinating these efforts with various departments.

The Lead Environmental Services Coordinator is responsible for ensuring 24/7 seamless operations of the environmental services team, engaging in cleaning and project tasks as a working supervisor, and overseeing staff to maintain a safe, clean, and operationally effective environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide Environmental Services Aides to uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Efficiently allocate personnel, equipment, and supplies to maximize resource utilization in housekeeping operations.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and conduct training and development sessions to meet performance benchmarks and enhance teamwork.
  • Address defects, deficiencies, and customer feedback promptly, ensuring effective service recovery and resolution.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to meet the needs of the unit.
  • Adapt communication and service delivery to respect the unique needs of the patient population.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in housekeeping or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in computer applications and data entry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly to diverse audiences.

Physical and Environmental Demands

This position requires the ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently. The physical demands exceed those of sedentary work.
