Position Overview:

The Senior FMS Systems Engineer will be responsible for leading the technical and engineering initiatives associated with the deployment of advanced weapon systems to international partners.

Key Responsibilities:


The role involves the integration of weapon systems with allied aircraft and launch platforms, ensuring compliance with qualification, safety, program protection, performance, and testing standards to meet all operational requirements.

The Systems Engineer will facilitate the alignment of requirements and expectations between international and domestic teams.


Qualifications:


The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in systems engineering, particularly within the context of NAVAIR weapon systems development, with a strong preference for candidates with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) expertise.

The candidate should be a proactive systems engineering professional, capable of thriving in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The role requires collaboration with engineers and scientists to address complex technical challenges and provide strategic guidance on all project components.


The candidate must demonstrate strong teamwork, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while communicating clearly and resolving conflicts constructively.


Essential Duties:
  • Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Working Groups, and other collaborative efforts by applying engineering expertise to develop and assess solutions and recommendations.
  • Lead technical interchange meetings, design reviews, and working groups.
  • Monitor contractor and vendor performance against program milestones, ensuring timely deliverables and adherence to requirements.
  • Assist in planning and executing System Engineering Technical Reviews (SETRs) and Test and Evaluation support, including flight test planning and certification.
  • Conduct engineering investigations, including on-site support, data analysis, and report generation.
  • Manage and organize program-related engineering documentation and information, employing best practices to address aviation-specific engineering challenges.
  • Provide expertise in requirements management by researching and developing presentations to support technical requirements for air platforms and weapon systems.
  • Offer systems engineering insights on system architecture, integration management, and airworthiness protocols.
  • Assist in the management of deficiencies and safety hazards.
  • Oversee configuration requirements and tailor technical scopes to meet FMS needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in Systems Engineering for Naval Aviation, encompassing the Acquisition process and associated documentation.
  • A Master's or advanced degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree combined with additional relevant experience may be considered.
  • Eligibility for access to classified information; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active Secret clearance with a current background investigation.
  • Experience with NAVAIR FMS practices and recent involvement in weapons program engineering.
  • Familiarity with NAVAIR Acquisition and Systems Engineering methodologies.
  • Proven experience in NAVAIR weapon system development and support.
