Junior Service Technician
OBJECTIVE AND OVERVIEW
This role serves as an entry-level Service Technician, designed to provide extensive foundational training. The Junior Technician is primarily tasked with enhancing technical and customer service abilities while collaborating with experienced Technicians and Team Leaders, and occasionally working autonomously. This position is intended as a preparatory step before progressing to an Installation Technician role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To excel in this position, an individual must effectively carry out each essential duty:
  • Acquire technical skills, product line knowledge, and proficiency in adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Complete assigned tasks promptly and accurately, either independently or under the mentorship of a senior Technician.
  • Foster and maintain positive customer relationships that reflect the company's commitment to service excellence.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.
  • Assist in the installation, inspection, servicing, and repair of equipment in the field under the supervision of a senior Installation Technician. Must be comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
  • Participate in all required training sessions and modules to demonstrate competency and understanding.
  • Utilize handheld devices to accurately complete all necessary documentation related to field service, repairs, and installations, including service tickets and safety analysis sheets.
  • Maintain compliance with operational and communication standards as outlined in the Field Technician Handbook.
  • This position involves operating truck-based cranes, forklifts, welders, torches, and various power and hand tools.
  • Follow all safety requirements set by the company and customers.
  • Adhere to customer-specific requirements, policies, and instructions on their job sites.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments within the company to effectively coordinate activities and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Previous experience in mechanical, electrical, or welding fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Successful completion of a DOT medical examination.
  • Compliance with applicable driver qualification standards at all times.
  • The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety guidelines, blueprints, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information to groups.
  • Basic mathematical skills for performing calculations in various units of measure.
  • The ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form and to address problems involving multiple concrete variables in standardized situations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.
