Position Overview:

The Surgical Services Technician plays a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This position is essential in ensuring the operating room is fully prepared for surgical procedures.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and organize case carts with necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical operations.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Restock supplies and manage inventory effectively to maintain operational readiness.
  • Support the maintenance and repair of surgical equipment across various procedural sites.
  • Adhere to established policies, protocols, and guidelines to promote patient safety and quality care.
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive environment focused on customer service and patient care.
  • Engage in collaborative efforts with a diverse team to enhance workplace culture and cooperation.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the surgical department.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED is required. A minimum of six months of experience as a nursing assistant or in a perioperative setting is preferred.


Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Capable of utilizing computer systems and software relevant to the role.
  • Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic patient care tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is preferred.
