Position Overview

We are in search of a qualified Quality Assurance Manager with extensive experience in aerospace manufacturing and a thorough understanding of AS9100 standards. This role involves overseeing the quality management system (QMS) to guarantee that products comply with rigorous quality and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities to direct the QA team and work collaboratively with other departments to foster continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and uphold the AS9100-compliant QMS, ensuring compliance with all relevant aerospace regulations.
  • Conduct internal and external audits, including AS9100 certification assessments, and ensure prompt resolution of any findings.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop the QA team, comprising Quality Engineers, Inspectors, and Technicians.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the QA team to align with organizational goals.
  • Identify and implement process enhancements in manufacturing and quality operations to minimize defects and boost efficiency.
  • Execute corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address non-conformities and customer feedback.
  • Oversee supplier quality processes, including audits, qualification, and performance evaluation.
  • Collaborate with supply chain management to address supplier-related quality challenges.
  • Serve as the primary contact for customers regarding quality issues, ensuring effective communication.
  • Manage customer quality concerns and implement corrective measures to enhance satisfaction.
  • Ensure all quality documentation, including work instructions and inspection records, is accurate and current.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting trends and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance within the aerospace sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100 standards and experience leading AS9100 audits.
  • Preferred certifications include ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in quality methodologies such as Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, and FMEA.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
