Position Overview
This role is crucial for establishing and communicating excellence standards within the daily operations of the assigned team to achieve safe production goals as defined by management. The Team Lead will convey these standards through clear objectives, daily interactions, team discussions, providing feedback on employee performance, and suggesting disciplinary measures when necessary. This position involves travel between various operational sites.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday: 6 AM - 5 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts standard office tasks, plant operations, equipment maintenance, and operates mobile machinery.
- Fosters effective communication across all operational areas.
- Performs routine safety inspections, housekeeping checks, and mechanical assessments throughout the facility.
- Implements and adheres to all safety protocols, regulations, and procedures as mandated by federal, state, and local authorities, alongside company policies and safety standards.
- Collaborates closely with the Senior Team Coordinator and Production Supervisor to ensure timely maintenance of all equipment.
- Completes annual performance assessments for team members.
- Participates in the plant safety committee.
- Works alongside the Plant Manager, Production Supervisor, and Senior Team Coordinator in formulating mining strategies, profit plans, and monthly forecasts.
- Accurately compiles daily production, safety, and maintenance reports.
- Maintains cleanliness and appearance standards of the plant and ensures product quality as established.
- Assists in training colleagues as required.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Must prioritize safety, be reliable, and show motivation.
- Willingness to actively engage in plant safety initiatives.
- Open to working overtime and weekends as necessary.
- Flexible to cross-train in various production areas.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience relevant to the responsibilities of this position.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the building materials, mining, or aggregates sector.
- Able to collaborate effectively with others towards a common goal, actively contributing to team efforts while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Possesses strong coordination and communication skills.
- Demonstrates a solid mechanical aptitude and relevant knowledge.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and performing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Able to work varying shifts outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
- Competent in reading and interpreting gauges/dials to make informed decisions regarding processing equipment.
- Familiar with team-based management principles.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software applications.
- Adheres to MSHA guidelines and plant safety regulations.
- Prioritizes safety, followed by quality and production, to ensure a secure work environment.
