The Export Manager is expected to exhibit strong leadership and customer service capabilities. They will play a crucial role within our team as a primary representative to clients, overseeing the entire international shipment process from quotation to delivery. As an operations leader, they are tasked with nurturing healthy, mutually beneficial relationships with Priority Worldwide's international freight forwarding partners and regulatory bodies.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in Freight Forwarding Export
  • Expertise in Intermodal Exports - Air and Ocean
  • Experience with ITAR Shipments and Compliance Regulations
  • Candidate must be able to work on-site in either Baltimore MD or Los Angeles CA
  • Experience managing a team in a similar capacity
  • Familiarity with CargoWise is preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Your Responsibilities...

You will be the driving force behind the export team, responsible for the timely, efficient, and cost-effective movement, routing, and occasional quoting of international freight under our purview.

Key Duties:

  • Act as a primary contact for all clients, both internal and external, maintaining a constant focus on excellence to deliver the Ultimate Customer Experience.
  • Foster and promote a strong team environment.
  • Engage directly with the assigned export team to ensure awareness of all activities and take a leading role in problem resolution.
  • Ensure the assigned export team operates effectively, clients receive prompt responses, and established processes are adhered to.
  • Develop measurable metrics and objectives that can be shared with the team and management.
  • Assist the Directors of Operations and Compliance as needed with any export compliance-related issues.
  • Manage workload and task distribution for HQ and remote staff members.
  • Exude energy and motivation to both clients and employees.
  • Lead weekly departmental meetings for the assigned export team.
  • Prepare, review, and present monthly departmental performance metrics.
  • Mentor and train team members, assigning and reviewing individual/team objectives.
  • Conduct AES filing audits.
  • Address and take action on any service issues, feedback from/to operations/sales, including reviewing/initiating CARS.
  • Be prepared to step in and take a hands-on approach when necessary to ensure client satisfaction.

Compensation and Benefits:

Individual compensation packages are determined by various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related considerations.

  • Salary range: $75,000 - $110,000 annually, based on experience.
