Role Overview:
The Export Department Manager is a pivotal role that requires strong leadership and customer service acumen. This position oversees the entire international shipment process, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring a commitment to delivering the Ultimate Customer Experience.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and problem-solving.
- Oversee the export team’s daily operations, ensuring adherence to established processes and prompt client responses.
- Develop and present performance metrics to management, highlighting team achievements and areas for improvement.
- Assist in compliance-related issues, collaborating with the Directors of Operations and Compliance.
- Manage task distribution among team members, ensuring workload balance and efficiency.
- Lead weekly team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for success.
- Mentor team members, setting individual and collective goals for professional development.
- Conduct audits on AES filings and address any service-related feedback.
- Be prepared to engage directly with clients to resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Freight Forwarding, specifically in export roles.
- Proficient in Intermodal Exports for both Air and Ocean.
- Experience with ITAR shipments and compliance regulations is essential.
- Strong team management experience in a similar capacity.
- Familiarity with CargoWise software is preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills are required.
Compensation and Benefits:
Compensation packages are tailored to individual qualifications and experience, including:
- Annual salary range of $75,000-$110,000.
