About the Role

Benesch is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Project Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure development team, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing transportation projects that enhance the quality of life for our communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Design: Develop detailed designs of urban and rural roadways from preliminary to final design, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and client goals.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with team members, communities, and stakeholders to define data needs, project requirements, and outputs to develop applications.
  • Project Coordination: Compile and coordinate plans, specifications, cost estimates, and pay items, ensuring complete and accurate deliverables.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support studies and alternative analysis to determine best solutions to meet compliance and client goals, working with various disciplines and reviewers to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Proposal Development: Contribute to proposal development, highlighting your expertise and experience in transportation engineering design.
  • Project Management: Manage small projects, project tasks, and assist Project Managers in overall large project delivery, ensuring timely and within-budget completion.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Manage and maintain project documentation, providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or higher is required.
  • Experience: Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects, with experience working with Local and State public agency clients (Public Works, DOTs, etc.) preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient with ORD design software, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a Kansas and/or Missouri Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain upon hire (preferred).
