Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the project management team with various commercial construction initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
Assist the project manager in overseeing all facets of commercial construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and procurement of materials.
Documentation Management:
Ensure meticulous maintenance of project documentation, including contracts, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), submittals, and meeting minutes. Keep all documentation organized and readily accessible for reference and audit purposes.
Communication Liaison:
Act as a central point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal team members. Facilitate effective communication, provide timely updates, and address any project-related inquiries.
Budget and Cost Control:
Assist the project manager in monitoring project budgets, tracking expenses, and analyzing costs. Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for efficient resource allocation.
Schedule Management:
Help create and maintain project schedules, ensuring key milestones are achieved on time. Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and collaborate with the project team to implement corrective measures.
Quality Assurance:
Participate in quality control inspections to ensure compliance with construction plans, specifications, and industry standards. Work with the project team to address any quality issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in assisting or coordinating commercial construction projects.
- Solid understanding of construction processes, techniques, and building codes.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
