Job Summary

SUN LAKES HOA 2 is seeking a highly skilled Golf Course Irrigation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance staff, you will be responsible for the operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of manual, semi-automatic irrigation systems and drainage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Operation and Maintenance
    • Under the direction of the Superintendent, perform daily checks on system functioning to ensure optimal performance.
    • Install, maintain, and repair irrigation controllers, valves, QCVs, sprinkler heads, air relief valves, and other system components.
    • Perform supplemental or hand irrigation as required to ensure even water distribution.
  • System Installation and Repair
    • Install and repair irrigation control wiring or hydraulic tubing to ensure efficient system operation.
    • Operate and maintain pumps and pump controllers to ensure proper water pressure.
  • System Monitoring and Reporting
    • Monitor system performance daily for leaks and proper functioning.
    • Report any issues or problems to the Superintendent or supervisor.
  • Inventory Management
    • Inventory parts and supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance
    • Operate and maintain utility vehicles and powered equipment to ensure efficient system operation.
  • Training and Development
    • Train others in all aspects of irrigation system operation and maintenance.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands
    • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    • The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time.
    • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • 2+ years of experience in irrigation system operation and maintenance preferred.
