Overview:
We are in search of a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Project Specialist with a minimum of 15 years of substantial experience in the Oil & Gas sector, particularly in refinery initiatives, with a strong emphasis on the design of stationary equipment.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with leading and managing various facets of the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase and the execution of projects related to major refinery enhancements.


Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight:
In the capacity of a Senior Mechanical Project Specialist, you will play a pivotal role during the FEED phase of refinery initiatives.

Your collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including process and civil engineers, as well as project managers, will be essential to ensure effective project planning, design, and execution.

Additionally, you will oversee designer reviews and represent the client's interests in evaluations and workshops.

Design of Stationary Equipment:
Your main focus will be on reviewing design packages and supervising the stationary equipment necessary for refinery operations.

This encompasses pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, boilers, piping, and other essential static equipment.


Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that all engineering designs and solutions comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and safety regulations. Identify potential safety hazards and implement appropriate measures to effectively mitigate them.

Technical Proficiency:

Leverage your extensive knowledge and experience in refinery processes and stationary equipment to provide technical direction and resolve intricate engineering challenges.

Review and endorse technical documents, drawings, and specifications in alignment with international standards and established procedures.

Budget Management:
Work closely with the project management team to devise cost-effective solutions for the mechanical scope of work. Monitor expenditures and propose cost-saving strategies without compromising safety and quality.

Vendor Coordination:
Engage with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to select the most appropriate stationary equipment for refinery projects. Assess vendor proposals, conduct technical evaluations, and provide informed recommendations.

Mentorship and Development:

Offer mentorship and support to junior mechanical engineers within the team, promoting their professional development and enhancing the overall expertise of the group.


Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.

A Master's degree would be advantageous.


At least 15 years of practical experience in mechanical engineering roles within the Oil & Gas sector, with a specific focus on refinery projects and stationary equipment design.

Demonstrated expertise in the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase and project execution.

Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, API, and ASTM, along with applicable safety regulations.

Proficiency in engineering software and tools commonly utilized for design, analysis, and project management.

Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

In-depth understanding of rotating equipment principles, design considerations, and maintenance practices.

Expertise in vibration analysis, failure analysis techniques, and reliability engineering.

Strong grasp of mechanical design principles, including stress analysis, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
