About the Role:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will support projects across various industry sectors, including renewable fuels and carbon capture/reduction. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and Specification: Specialize in the design and specification of shop fabricated and field erected API aboveground storage tanks, including API 650 tanks.
  • Technical Bid & Purchase Documents: Prepare technical bid & purchase documents based on process datasheets, client specifications, and industry codes and standards.
  • Vendor Evaluation: Review vendor equipment bids and prepare technical bid evaluations.
  • Vendor Coordination: Review vendor drawings and other documentation and regularly meet, correspond, and coordinate with equipment vendors.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Interface and coordinate multiple engineering disciplines to meet project design requirements and effectively manage the internal flow of data and design changes.
  • Document Reviews: Perform inter-discipline document reviews, such as P&IDs, plot plans, and construction subcontracts.
  • Construction Planning: Participate in construction planning, bid walks, and scope evaluation.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentoring of personnel and additional responsibilities such as the opportunity to oversee execution of the above activities performed by less-experienced engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Experience: 7 years of mechanical engineering experience with the design and specification of shop fabricated and field erected API 650 storage tanks.
  • API Experience: Experience with API 620 and 625 is considered a plus.
  • Geodesic Dome Experience: Experience with Geodesic Dome is considered a plus.
  • ASME Sec. VIII Div. 2 Spheres Experience: Experience with ASME Sec. VIII Div. 2 Spheres is considered a plus.
  • API 653 Experience: API 653 Tank inspection, repair, and alteration experience is considered a plus.
  • UL142 & UL58 Experience: Experience with UL142 & UL58 tanks is considered as a plus.
  • Professional Engineering License: Professional Engineering License (PE) preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork: Must have the ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Industry Experience: Previous EPC industry consulting experience and/or tank fabrication and erection experience is considered a plus.
  • Design Codes & Standards: Familiarity with design codes and standards such as ASME, API and PIP.
  • TWIC Eligibility: TWIC eligible strongly preferred.
