About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at AKP Recruiting. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of mechanical building systems and infrastructure engineering design functions on a variety of large public and private developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage project delivery within the area office and project teams.
  • Develop scope, budget, and schedules, and negotiate projects with clients.
  • Conduct business development activities and cultivate client relationships.
  • Perform whole building energy modeling to support life-cycle analysis.
  • Direct junior engineers and track performance and utilization.
  • Review and understand LEED requirements and verify they are incorporated into the design/construction.
  • Review technical aspects of major design, construction, renovation, and/or alterations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
  • Minimum 10-15 years of related experience.
  • Understanding of LEED requirements and LEED AP preferred.
  • Experience with high-performance sustainable systems design with a holistic integrated building systems approach.
  • Experience with central utility plants, variable-primary flow systems, ground source systems, fan-wall systems, chilled beam systems, and energy-recovery systems.
  • Working knowledge of building and building system codes (IBC, IECC, IFGC, IMC, IPC, ASHRAE standards, and NFPA standards).
  • Proficient in Revit, building load and energy modeling software (use Trane Trace 700 for both), Bluebeam, AutoCAD.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to strategically pursue and win new work and clients that fit the business plan.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
