**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Clinical Engagement Coordinator to join our team at the Bowery Residents Committee. This role plays a vital part in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and substance abuse issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective daily support and interventions to persons experiencing a range of behaviors and symptoms.
  • Participate in a multi-disciplinary team to engage individuals in a client-centered approach while addressing their varied needs.
  • Support clients adjusting to our facility setting, including orientation, setting expectations, and discussing available resources.
  • Assist in supervisory oversight of frontline operations and case management staff.
  • Ensure the safety of persons served during critical moments through verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Provide ongoing training for clinical, operations, and security staff in de-escalation techniques and other client engagement modalities.
  • Use Motivational Interviewing to engage and motivate clients to participate in services and activities.
  • Work with clinical teams to assist with referrals to services for clients.
  • Utilize trauma-informed and recovery-based training principles to create an inspiring care environment.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelors degree preferred or three years of direct experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing, conflict resolution, and related best practices is desired.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment while maintaining open communication with the team.
