Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated HR Assistant to support our growing team. This essential role will focus on assisting the HR and payroll departments by managing the onboarding process, maintaining the HRIS and employee files, serving as the primary contact for employee inquiries, and overseeing various employment-related tasks. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, self-motivation, and effective communication abilities within a diverse workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary contact for a variety of employee inquiries.
  • Facilitate background checks for prospective hires and prepare offer letters.
  • Complete new hire setups in the HRIS and ensure all required documents and policy acknowledgments are received.
  • Maintain personnel files and HRIS, including records of employee changes, deductions, garnishments, and payroll documentation.
  • Verify accuracy on HR Change forms and assist managers in ensuring correctness before filing.
  • Process terminations in the HRIS and update employee records accordingly.
  • Manage enrollment and termination of plan members on carrier and COBRA platforms as necessary.
  • Act as the primary backup for payroll processing tasks.
  • Engage in recruitment activities, manage job postings, conduct phone screenings, and coordinate interviews.
  • Assist with office coordination, liaising with building management and vendors to ensure office supplies and snacks are available.
  • Contribute to culture and event planning by supporting the organization of enjoyable events and company meetings.
  • Participate in special projects, conduct analyses, and address inquiries related to HRIS functionalities.
  • Perform other assigned tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Human Resources.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Human Resources.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms; experience with UltiPro / UKG solutions is a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel and comfortable with general technology (MS Office, web-based tools, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills, multitasking abilities, and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with high standards of quality and precision.
  • Proactive individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
