Position Overview: As an Air Import Agent, you will oversee the logistics of our clients' air import shipments. Acting as the primary liaison, you will coordinate effectively between customer shipment imports, customs brokers, and shipping carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process orders by confirming arrival schedules, liaising with customs brokerage, entering data, and organizing deliveries.
- Foster customer relationships by addressing inquiries through various communication channels.
- Collaborate with air and ground transport partners to manage shipments efficiently.
- Receive and monitor purchase orders from importers and overseas offices for upcoming air shipments.
- Gather shipment information, manage all documentation for cargo release, and perform data entry for each shipment.
- Respond to all customer inquiries in line with established Customer Service Policy standards.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and business engagement through proactive communication.
- Coordinate with air carriers to ensure timely release of freight.
- Inform customers and customs brokers of arrivals and applicable charges; provide accurate job costing forecasts and handle billing processes.
- Organize and manage deliveries to customers.
- Address and manage all customer interactions at the file level concerning exceptions.
- Engage in additional projects as assigned.
- Outstanding customer service capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong follow-up abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience in the air freight sector (including exports) is preferred.
- Familiarity with Cargo Wise systems is advantageous.
