As a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic, you will be part of a community of valued employees who work together to create a welcoming, caring, and trusting environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose, repair, and maintain all equipment, commercial fleet operations, diesel engines, air brakes, and electronics.
- Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
- Communicate with Managers through verbal and written methods to assure repairs are completed correctly.
- Maintain work area appearance and safety.
- Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner.
- Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
- 3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge in heavy machinery.
- Strong prioritization and time management skills as well as strong sense of commitment and accountability.
- Experience in repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmissions, and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, turbochargers, fuel system components etc.
- Clean driving record and background.
- Able to pass a drug test.
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions, practices, and procedures of the welding trade.
- Availability for occasional Saturdays.
- Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
- Medical, dental, and vision.
