- Greet and assist patients during check-in, verifying accurate information and ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage active claims and follow up on missing information, maintaining accurate records and resolving issues promptly.
- Provide support for patient portals and assist with inquiries, ensuring patients have access to necessary information and resources.
- Administer intake forms and necessary documents to patients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and scheduling of appointments, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with staff.
- Process payments and maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Handle office supply inventory and maintain cleanliness standards, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Offer guidance and support to patients when needed, providing empathetic and professional assistance.
- Attend meetings and contribute to EHR/EPM implementation, staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and best practices.
- Adhere to confidentiality protocols and HIPAA regulations, maintaining the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned for quality assurance, ensuring continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computing and phone competencies, with experience in medical office software and systems.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with confidentiality practices and HIPAA regulations, with a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and security.
- Preferably bilingual in English/Spanish or other languages, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel, with a flexible schedule and ability to work in a variety of settings.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with previous experience in a medical office setting.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems and experience with insurance and referrals is a plus.
