This position is available within the Sponsored Programs Accounting (SPA) office.

SPA plays a crucial role in supporting the research initiatives at Cleveland Clinic.

SPA is tasked with managing the financial aspects of sponsored activities, which includes overseeing financial reporting, billing, revenue management, project receivable management, and reconciling project accounts with the general ledger.

Additionally, SPA ensures compliance with project regulations through active participation in various internal and external audit processes.

They also maintain strong relationships with sponsoring agencies and Cleveland Clinic personnel to guarantee the accuracy and compliance of financial data related to sponsored programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze, and communicate essential financial information.
  • Provide support to management and staff regarding financial reporting and related matters.
  • Assist in budget preparation, compliance reviews, and financial planning.
  • Consult with management at all levels to offer decision support for initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct special projects and duties related to research, forecasting, and conflict resolution as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Key Job Functions:

Assist with compliance related to licenses, accounts receivable, budgets, monthly closing, and standard or ad hoc reporting to meet organizational needs. Responsibilities may include standard general ledger reconciliations, expense analysis, and developing internal controls.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

Certifications:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

Financial Analyst I: One year of experience in Accounting, Finance, Healthcare, Investment Banking, or Management Consulting is preferred.

Financial Analyst II: A minimum of two years of experience in financial or revenue cycle management or general analytical roles is required, with healthcare experience preferred.

Financial Analyst III: A minimum of three years of experience in financial or revenue cycle management or general analytical roles is required, with healthcare experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity for producing materials on a PC, normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting, and occasional lifting or carrying of up to 25 pounds.

Compensation:

The displayed pay range reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including work history, experience, skill set, and education. This does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's comprehensive benefits package, which includes healthcare, dental, vision, and retirement options.
