Key Responsibilities:

Typical tasks include:
  • Designing and implementing essential programs for the personnel security framework, including continuous evaluation and security awareness initiatives.
  • Advising on personnel security policies and processes to agency officials.
  • Ensuring comprehensive information is available for background investigations to support appropriate adjudicative decisions.
  • Making strategic recommendations for workload distribution and task management among team members.
  • Independently reviewing background investigations to determine suitability for federal employment and eligibility for national security positions.
  • Applying security adjudicative guidelines to assess unique situations and provide recommendations.
  • Consulting with various investigative and adjudicative agencies to maintain up-to-date knowledge of security procedures.
  • Participating in high-level briefings and discussions regarding security matters.


Employment Conditions:
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Completion of initial assessments may be necessary.
  • Registration with Selective Service is required for males born after 12/31/59.
  • All federal employees must participate in Direct Deposit for salary payments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is essential.
  • Compliance with drug testing protocols may be required.


Qualifications:

To qualify for the GS-12 level:
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-11 level, including:
  • Analyzing and applying security regulations to resolve issues.
  • Preparing detailed reports and recommendations.
  • Utilizing automated systems for confidential information management.

To qualify for the GS-13 level:
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, including:
  • Independently resolving complex security challenges.
  • Communicating effectively with diverse audiences.
  • Developing security policy guidance for various situations.
