Purpose of the Position


Reporting to the
CCO, the Head of Market Access will be a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team at Sun Pharma, tasked with overseeing market access strategies and execution. This includes responsibilities for pricing, reimbursement, patient services, and engagement strategies across key customer segments.

The selected candidate will collaborate closely with Human Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Medical Affairs, and Marketing to:

- Develop compelling product value propositions
- Create evidence generation plans
- Formulate messaging and economic analyses/models.


The individual will spearhead Sun's ongoing market access and managed care strategies, prepare for upcoming product launches, and liaise with third-party contracting administrators.

This role will involve representing Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Inc.

(Sun Pharma) in developing payor contracting strategies and negotiations, while also engaging with critical business functions such as marketing, sales, medical affairs, and research and development.

The ideal candidate will possess reimbursement experience in Biologics and/or Immunology.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage a patient access service support program to enhance patient experiences and provide payment assistance as needed.

- Schedule and oversee clinical presentations and meetings with payors as required.

- Support the overall marketing objectives, including pricing strategy and execution.

- Conduct payor segmentation and analysis to prioritize payors and monitor contract performance, including negotiation and administration.

- Evaluate new markets, service opportunities, market capacity, and payor penetration.

- Engage with senior leadership regarding the ongoing managed care value proposition and contribute to strategic planning and budgeting.

- Foster positive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including government entities, to drive additional business opportunities.

- Lead the field account management organization towards achieving milestones.

- Design, develop, and implement managed care models and strategies to enhance access, improve quality outcomes, and achieve cost efficiencies.

- Develop policies, procedures, and programs for Medicaid, Medicare, commercial plans, and state employee health insurance programs.

- Engage in strategic planning and identify emerging business opportunities.

- Analyze stakeholders and devise engagement strategies to support new markets and business lines.

- Secure formulary access and preferred postings with key payors.

- Monitor contract adherence performance of payors.

- Gather data from payor groups, including health plans, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and Specialty Pharmacy Payors (SPPs) to understand market dynamics and competitor positioning, defining strategies for distribution, including SPP agreements and partnerships.

The Candidate

Experience and Professional Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree required.

- 15+ years of progressive healthcare experience in relevant managed care initiatives.

- 10 years of experience in managed care contract development and negotiations.

- 3-5 years of experience in the biologics and/or immunology sector.

- Proven success in negotiating commercial payor contracts, with prior launch experience preferred.

- Familiarity with Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Medicare Shared Savings Programs, and value-based contracting.

- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with all levels of the organization.

- Proficient in desktop applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Comprehensive understanding of clinical development and regulatory processes and strategies.

- Willingness to travel, with a minimum expectation of 20%.
