Purpose of the Position
Reporting directly to the
CCO, the Head of Market Access will be a vital member of the Senior Leadership Team at Sun Pharma, responsible for formulating and executing market access strategies. This includes overseeing pricing, reimbursement, patient services, and engagement strategies across key customer segments.
1. Develop compelling product value propositions.
2. Create evidence generation plans and messaging.
3. Conduct economic analyses and models.
The selected candidate will lead Sun's ongoing market access and managed care strategies, prepare for upcoming product launches, and engage with third-party contracting administrators.
(Sun Pharma) in developing payor contracting strategies and negotiations, while also collaborating with critical business functions such as marketing, sales, medical affairs, and research and development.
The ideal candidate will possess reimbursement experience in Biologics and/or Immunology.Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and manage a patient access service support program to ensure a positive patient experience and provide payment assistance as needed.
2. Schedule and oversee clinical presentations and meetings with payors as required.
3. Support the company's overall marketing objectives, including pricing strategy and execution.
4. Conduct payor segmentation and analysis to prioritize payors and monitor contract performance, including negotiations and administration.
5. Evaluate new markets, service opportunities, market capacity, and payor penetration.
6. Engage with senior leadership regarding the ongoing managed care value proposition and strategic planning.
Foster positive and productive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, including government relations, to drive additional business.7. Develop, supervise, and lead organization-wide milestones for field account management.
8. Design, develop, and implement managed care models and strategies to enhance access, improve quality outcomes, and achieve cost efficiencies.
9. Develop managed care policies, procedures, and programs for Medicaid, Medicare, commercial plans, and state employee health insurance programs.
10. Engage in strategic planning and business development for emerging opportunities.
11. Conduct stakeholder analysis and engagement strategies to support new markets and business lines.
12. Secure formulary listing access and preferred positioning with key payors.
13. Monitor contract adherence performance of payors.
14. Gather data from payor groups such as health plans, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), and Specialty Pharmacy Payors (SPPs) to understand market dynamics and competitors' status, defining strategies for distribution, including SPP agreements and partnerships.
The Candidate
Experience and Professional Qualifications
1. Bachelor's Degree required.
2. 15+ years of progressive healthcare experience in relevant managed care initiatives.
3. 10 years of experience in managed care contract development and negotiations.
4. 3-5 years of experience in the biologics and/or immunology space.
5. Proven success in negotiating commercial payor contracts, with prior launch experience preferred.
6. Familiarity with Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs), Medicare Shared Savings Programs, and value-based contracting.
7. Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels to perform job duties.
8. Proficient in desktop applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
9. Broad understanding of clinical development and regulatory processes and strategies.
10. Travel will be expected at a minimum of 20%.
