Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader for the role of Senior Vice President of Patient Advocacy. This pivotal position is integral to our mission of transforming the lives of those impacted by rare diseases through innovative and accessible healthcare solutions, compassionate support, and robust advocacy efforts. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping our patient engagement strategies and empowering patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive Global Patient Advocacy strategy with clear objectives and actionable plans that cater to the needs of patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Adjust strategies and plans as necessary to enhance patient experiences and outcomes, particularly in areas such as clinical research participation and access initiatives.
- Provide leadership and support to both Global and International teams in fostering relationships with key stakeholders and identifying research opportunities.
- Guide and mentor local and global patient advocacy organizations to maximize their effectiveness in supporting the rare disease community.
- Manage financial budgets related to advocacy programs and ensure alignment with corporate fiscal expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards while promoting a patient-first culture throughout the organization.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to enhance patient advocacy initiatives across various operational areas.
- Develop a comprehensive healthcare communications strategy to effectively convey our advocacy efforts.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required; advanced degrees or professional certifications in relevant fields are preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years in Patient Advocacy or related fields, with a strong focus on rare diseases and a proven track record of successful advocacy leadership.
Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, strong relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of the rare disease landscape are essential. Experience in collaborating with compliance and legal teams is also important.
Travel Requirements: Some domestic and international travel may be required.
