Immigration Project Intern

Legal Aid Society of DC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Immigration Project as an intern. This 12-week internship will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in immigration law and work closely with our team to support clients in need.
Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth legal research on various immigration issues, including asylum, U & T visas, and DACA.
- Assist attorneys with case development, including drafting legal briefs and pleadings, and conducting country conditions research.
- Review and analyze case-related documents, statutes, and regulations to support legal arguments and strategies.
- Interact with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather information and draft declarations.
- Attend court hearings and USCIS interviews to observe and assist attorneys as needed.
- Provide administrative support, including organizing case files, scheduling meetings, and managing correspondence.
Current law students or graduates interested in public interest and immigration law are encouraged to apply. A scholarship of $2,500 will be provided to selected interns.
