Job Overview

Children's Funding Project is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Emerging Funding Strategies (EFS) efforts. The Manager or Senior Manager, EFS will be responsible for identifying local economic development opportunities and innovative strategies to finance child and youth programs and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and advance CFP's database of Emerging Funding Strategies, documenting new strategies and adding detail about action steps required to leverage them.
  • Oversee and implement EFS projects, including client screening, needs assessment, facilitation of inquiry into local context and limitations, analysis of findings, and creation of policy recommendations.
  • Develop EFS case studies for presentations and funding opportunities, and work collaboratively with internal departments to refine and standardize EFS engagement processes.
  • Identify and engage EFS technical assistance experts, and prepare funding proposals for and support relationships with philanthropic organizations and other project investors.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of work experience in local government, economic/housing/community development, and/or in a setting that requires knowledge and navigation of local public finance.
  • In-depth experience navigating local economic development opportunities and their regulations, and a desire to identify and learn about additional innovative strategies for financing local projects.
  • Experience coaching, informing, or providing technical assistance to both public and private sector partners, and facilitating cross-systems collaborative groups.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, able to approach complexity with confidence and strategic guidance.

What We Offer

This full-time, exempt position will fall into the Manager or Senior Manager level of our salary structure, depending on skills and experience. To maintain internal equity, the hiring range at the Manager level is expected to be between $75,000 and $82,500 and at the Senior Manager level between $90,000 and $97,500.
