This role entails overseeing production teams, equipment, and materials to ensure adherence to customer quality standards and timelines. The successful candidate will maintain effective communication with department managers and supervise their activities to enhance productivity. Investment in training, cutting-edge technology, and equipment is crucial, as is the oversight of material and product quality. Establishing benchmarks, procedures, and objectives to assess production costs and workforce efficiency is also a key responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with divisional leadership and operational leaders to define a future state that aligns with market trends and sales strategies.
  • Work alongside the divisional VP and sales management to prioritize production schedules.
  • Coordinate production efforts across multiple facilities to optimize capacity and expertise while fulfilling customer requirements.
  • Oversee purchasing controls and monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) by department.
  • Ensure the maintenance of machinery across all production departments.
  • Manage scheduling to meet customer deadlines through effective use of personnel and equipment, approving overtime and leave as necessary.
  • Supervise the upkeep and repair of production equipment, ensuring safety protocols are followed and equipment is operational.
  • Direct production activities by allocating daily tasks and setting both short and long-term objectives; provide guidance on procedural and technical matters.
  • Offer technical support by staying informed about new products and technologies, providing feedback on materials and equipment.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget, reviewing costs monthly and seeking opportunities to enhance productivity and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in production or operations management within the print or graphics sector.
  • Familiarity with pre-press processes, scheduling, and production planning.
  • Experience in digital printing, particularly with dye sublimated fabrics.
  • Knowledge of producing graphics and structures for trade shows, events, and retail environments is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to various production facilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to address challenges.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects.
