About the Position:

The Director of Operations role is a critical leadership position in creating a culture focused on operational excellence and improving overall consistency with execution, best practices, and building a strong operational talent skill across the board. The Director of Operations will lead the operations of identified sites within VitalPath and will be accountable for the development and execution of a manufacturing operations strategy to sustain growth, optimize facility utilization, drive continuous improvement in all processes, and generate world-class customer satisfaction with exceptional product quality.

Responsibilities:

The Director of Operations will be a strong leader capable of creating a strong culture across the organization while displaying qualities such as managerial excellence, accountability, and integrity. The responsibilities of this position include:

1. Leading the operations team toward a world-class culture and performance.
2. Creating and executing lean manufacturing strategies to increase manufacturing flexibility, decrease costs, and increase inventory turns and productivity.
3. Providing leadership and direction to the manufacturing team in the execution of top-level improvement priorities and meeting or exceeding key performance indicators, as identified.
4. Driving the communication of best practices between sales, supply chain, engineering, finance, and manufacturing to improve response times, develop accurate and competitive pricing, and assure customer satisfaction (quality, OTD to customer request date & service).
5. Working closely with Human Resources in identifying and implementing programs and activities that drive the development and retention of the manufacturing team.
6. Ensuring that business is conducted with the highest standards of quality, safety, and integrity.
7. Taking ownership of the ERP system's production capabilities and driving actions to have the whole manufacturing team getting trained and make a successful use of it.
8. Collaborating with Supply Chain to jointly own of the MRP within the ERP system in order to drive the organization to a level-loaded manufacturing in order to assure headcount resources are within the budgeted levels (monthly, quarterly, and yearly).
9. Possessing a complete understanding of the manufacturing department's financial results, including gross margin on a monthly basis. Collaborating with Finance team members for the development of respective annual budget and monitoring results compared to budget on a monthly basis.
10. Developing relationships/maintaining close contact with the top 10 customers regarding deliveries, change orders, and shipments.
11. Supporting all other departments with their needs in the course of business and driving the cross-over activities to make the consolidated company successful.
12. Creating and monitoring MBO for direct and indirect reports.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

1. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing production leadership displaying progressive growth.
3. Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools such as 5S, Flow, Standard Work, Takt time, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
5. The ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers.
6. Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
7. Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required of this position.
8. Ability to travel to other VitalPath sites as needed.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Certification in Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools such as 5S, Flow, Standard Work, Takt time, Value Stream Mapping, etc.
